The Digital Stamp Card for Beach Bars & Beach Clubs

Sun, a short season, regulars in the loungers. Here’s how to build a wallet stamp card that carries your beach bar through the summer.

Someone who stops by twice a week over summer fills the ten stamps in about five weeks — right in the middle of the season, not in September.

Why Your Beach Bar Runs on Regulars

Beach bars live on people who come back. The impulse guest who walks past the water once is nice — but the season is carried by the crew that spends weeknights and weekends at your place. Those are the guests you need: they order more often, bring friends, and fill the quiet midweek slots when tourists stay away.

The second issue is the clock. Your season is short. That leaves you only a few warm months to turn first-time visitors into regulars. A loyalty scheme that only pays off after a year does you no good — by then summer’s long gone. Everything here has to build faster than it would for a city café that’s open all year.

Then there’s the competition along the promenade. The next beach bar is often only fifty metres away, and the decision gets made mid-stroll. A visible reason to stop at your counter instead (the card’s nearly full) tips that gut decision in your favor.

The Right Reward for Your Beach Bar

At the beach, the target should feel within reach. Ten stamps fit a season where guests stop by once or twice a week: do that, and you’re at the reward in about five weeks — still right in the middle of summer, when the free drink means the most.

Two things worth working out for yourself:

  • What does the drink actually cost you? A drink on the house costs you the ingredients, not the menu price. In return, you get a guest who’s chosen you ten times on purpose. That’s the cheapest advertising on the beach.
  • Does ten match your rhythm? Five stamps like an ice cream shop would often be too short here — a regular fills the card in two weeks and loses the incentive. Twelve would be too long for a short season. Ten hits the middle. For help finding the right stamp count, see the guide to choosing your stamp count.

“One free drink” works because everyone gets it instantly and it fits the product: the reward is something from your menu again, not some unrelated voucher.

How It Works at Your Bar

The flow has to hold up during the peak-summer rush, or it’s no use to you:

  1. The QR code sits at the bar or on the menu, right where people order and pay anyway. Your guest scans it with their camera, taps “Add,” and the card lands in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. No app download, no account. That’s plenty of time before the next cocktail arrives.
  2. At checkout, they hold up the pass for a second, and your team scans it in the Treuly app. One scan per visit — no matter how many drinks or snacks are involved.
  3. Card full? The free drink unlocks automatically and gets redeemed with a scan next time, or saved for later if they’d rather wait.

One line for your team, always the same: “Collecting stamps with us? One scan, and your tenth drink is on the house.”

What the Digital Card Does Better Than Paper at a Beach Bar

  • It survives sand, sun, and the beach bag. A paper card in a swimsuit pocket is soaked through or gone in two weeks. The digital card lives on the phone and turns up again next May with the same stamp count.
  • A hot day gets a lever. When it’s forecast to hit 30°C in the morning, a push message to every cardholder (“Happy hour double stamps today”) lands straight on the lock screen — right when people are already thinking about the water.
  • You finally see when your season is actually humming. With Treuly Pro, the dashboard shows how many cards are in circulation and how often they’re stamped, instead of guessing whether it was a good summer.
  • No reprinting in spring. No stack of cards to order at the start of the season; you change the design and promotions right in the app. Out of the 67 templates, you’ll find a summery card design that fits your beach bar in minutes.

Questions from your industry

Quick answers.

My season only runs from May to September. Does the card expire over winter?
Not unless you want it to. The card sits in the wallet and just waits out the winter on your guests’ phones. Come May, the stamp count is still there — a paper card would’ve been gone long before that. If you’d rather everyone start fresh at the beginning of the season, you can set an expiry date too. Both are just a toggle in the app.
On hot days the bar is packed. Does stamping slow down service?
No. Stamping happens at checkout, once the drink is already on its way. Your guest holds up the wallet pass for a second, your team scans it on the iPhone — quicker than counting out change. And if the connection drops at the beach, the stamp just queues up and gets added automatically once you’re back online.
A lot of guests are tourists who only ever come once. Is this even worth it?
The card isn’t for the day visitor who strolls past once. It’s for the neighborhood crew and weekend regulars who spend their evenings at your bar. They’re coming back regardless — and ten stamps to a free drink gives them a reason to pick your spot over the one two loungers down. One-time visitors who never return cost you nothing: no scan, no card, no effort.
We have several stations — main bar, lounger service, food counter. Where does the QR go?
Wherever people pay. Usually one stand at the main bar is enough. If you also take orders at the loungers, put the QR on the menu or the service pad. One scan per visit is enough — whether the drink was ordered at the bar or on the sand.
